Could anyone please help me find the registry key locations for the PC username, and the PC hostname on Windows Vista?
I could NOT find anything on Vista.
Thanks so much in advance.
I have a desktop system that had WinXP on it. I bought a copy of Win7, put the install CD in the drive, and booted. After waiting a long time(*), it finally booted and offered me a choice:

Complete install
I'd swear I chose fresh install, but when it finished installing all my user...
Hi,
I'm doing a migration from a 2008 R2 domain called "company, com" to a 2012 domain called "ad,company, com". My question is, which would be the easiest way to migrate all user accounts from one to the other? Is there a built-in tool or do I go third party?
I already have the new servers set...

Hi, I'm Jenn, also new to these forums.
I stumbled upon a problem when switching from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
I have the EXACT same setup, same laptop, same hardware, same programs, same configuration, everything.
Windows 7 never did anything like the problem I now have in Win 8.1...
Really like the multiple Desktops. @ 1st thought it was much like Alt-Tab or hovering across Taskbar, basically, another View/Select approach. In 7 (& 8) would run more than one tabbed browser grouping related sites in each. This does that and on a higher level. Can EASILY be done by...
Sometimes (not every time) when I log into one account on my laptop (there are 3 accounts on the laptop), folder attributes ('show hidden files', 'hide extensions') get reset to their default values. I then need to change the settings (turn 'show hidden files' on, turn 'hide extensions' off)...
