So we just reviewed Windows 7 Pro and like the look and feel of it and the new applications are nice bonuses.
However Windows Live Mail is a No No for us! (You like it, then enjoy it. But we don’t want it!)
So we tried to download version 6 of OE but when we tried to install it we got a;

I don't want 64bit, and I don't want Home Prem. That is what is on the computer I purchased. It is the extremely tiny Acer 3610, I need help from those who know what that is (please, take just a second to eyeball it). It runs Atom 330 +Nvidia ION, and comes with 2GB ram. I think it is ridiculous...

Hello,
I was wondering if I make the move from XP Pro 32 bit to Windows 7 Pro 64 how I handle my emails please.
Inasmuch as Outlook works just fine for me as I use my email folds and DBX files as a sort of database for all my contacts and thing to do etc.
So what is the software in/for Windows...
90% of the time clicking on any drive C:\ D:\, cdrom drives, or even my network drives, opens up 2 new windows of that drive. I find it very annoying to have 3 open explorer windows when I only wanted 1. If I open a drive then close the two windows then open the drive again only one window...
As an experienced XP Pro user, I am somewhat surprised at what appears to be limitations associated with Win 7 offline file synchronisation process
In XP pro files would sync on log on, log off and as frequently in between as you establised.
However in Win 7 it appears to only sync on log on...
Just fitted a new hard drive for my systems "C" files and installed Windows7 Home edition (64bit). It was a clean install.
The reason I fitted a new hard drive and Windows7 was because my previous set-up using XP Pro was getting difficult to start up each morning. Some times it booted first...
Why are my applicatons closing automatically? I leave for the day with several applications running only to find them all shutdown in the morning. I see no evidence in eventvwr or Windows Update logs that the PC restarted.

My machine (a very powerful 64bit one) wouldnt let me update from XP Professional to Windows 7 64 bit, but would allow me to update (clean install) to 32 bit. Now 32 is in can I upgrade to 64?
Hi All,
I have a new Dell Precision T3400 which the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor says I can run the 64 bit version of Windows 7 on.
Unfortunately I am running XP pro 32 bit version on it.
Dell told me I would need to run my 64 bit disc by hitting F12 when rebooting to boot to the disk.
The...
I had the pleasure of setting up a small network workgroup with 4 windows 7 ultimate pc's and 3 xp professional pc's. 1 of the windows 7 pc's became the server and successfully shares folders to the other windows 7 pc's 24/7. The shares were created with the homegroup option. I used advanced...
I have 64 bit Windows Pro with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11
When I go to my corporate site Link Removed - Invalid URL it installs and starts F5 Network stuff
But then it hangs up forever.
Previously I have used this with XP Pro and Vista Business, with no problems.
Has anyone heard of...
I'm using a Enermax micro keyboard and when I had W7 RC installed it work fine since loading W7 Pro genuine the board has a couple of keys that seemed to be crossed with other keys, I tied it on my XP machine and the board works fine so I know it's not the problem

Hi --
I installed windows xp mode on my new laptop and have been trying to install a program that runs on xp but in xp mode it won't read off the DVD drive. Any ideas? This is very frustrating as I upgraded to professional to use the xp mode and to be able to use these older programs.
Thanks!
Why when installing Window7 has it installed in drive (d) rather than (c) that has XP Pro installed operating system installed. I did not see any option regaring the drive selection when I did the install. I have tried to format the (d) drive before starting again, but cant format it - It showed...
Guys,
I've recently changed my home computer over from WinXP to Win7. On my WinXP system, I had a permanently mapped drive to my "My Documents" directory on my work laptop (WinXP Pro). Once I had plugged my laptop into my home network (and powered it up of course), all I would need to do on my...

Hello! I have read the sticky notes and similar articles and have read forum posts, but none seem to address what I've encountered.
I had a project to completely rebuild a PC that had been running 32 bit XP Pro. The PC is used mostly as a NAS. My intention was to put 64 bit Windows 7 on the...

Alright...I loaded a retail version of 7 this morning (at home). No problems it seemed. I already had 3 partitions, two of which had operating systems, one XP Pro 64 bit and the other the rtm of 7 and one was strictly for files (the windows section had been removed previously). When the new os...
