Hi

I just noticed that in Windows 10 display settings there is an on off switch for "3D Display Mode".
Anyone one know what this does?

I do have a Stereo Capable monitor and video card but this is set in the Off position.

My computer will display Nvidia 3D Vision the way it is so what happens if I turn this to ON?

I'd like to have an idea what it does before I mess around with it.

Mike

The "3D Display Mode" setting in Windows 10 relates to stereoscopic 3D technology, which enables 3D visual effects on compatible displays and with supported content. Here's an overview of what enabling this setting may do: 1. Stereo Display Mode: When you turn on the "3D Display Mode," it activates a stereo 3D display on your monitor. This means that the display will render images separately for each eye to create a depth effect, giving the illusion of three-dimensional visuals. 2. Compatibility Check: Before enabling this mode, ensure that your monitor and graphics card support 3D display technology. Without the appropriate hardware, enabling 3D Display Mode might not have any effect or could potentially cause display...

Without the appropriate hardware, enabling 3D Display Mode might not have any effect or could potentially cause display issues. 3. Increased Immersion: By turning on the 3D Display Mode, you may experience a more immersive visual experience, especially when viewing content designed for 3D stereoscopic display. 4. Application-Specific: The impact of this feature can vary depending on the application you're using. Some applications and games support stereoscopic 3D, enhancing the depth and realism of the visual experience. 5. Adjustments Required: Enabling 3D Display Mode may require further adjustments in the graphics settings or additional setup steps depending on the content you're viewing. Ensure you follow any specific instructions related to 3D display settings. Before toggling this setting, it's recommended to check the compatibility of your monitor and graphics card, as well as review the documentation specific to your hardware and any software applications you plan to use in conjunction with 3D display technology.
