Hi

When I booted my computer this morning this message box came up.
I've never seen this before so I said no, and am running Malwarebytes.

The disturbing thing about this is that there is no identity as to what program is prompting this to display.
Looking at View Certificate wan't any more helpful, a bunch of data but no ID as to what it relates to.

Just some generic looking icons.

Mike

PS. Malwarebytes completed and gave me a clean report.

I am guessing its the Java applet option in the Internet Explorer Advanced settings tab. Try to disable it and the automatic download option as well in the Control Panel Settings for Java.

It's in the IE advanced settings, Mike.

Scroll down to the security section and you will see the item there. (Item #6)

If that isn't the problem (using FF?) then have a look in the Java window -Advanced. There is a similar item there which may have got itself ticked during an update.

Could it be something updating automatically in the background and the site's certificate is out of date? I've seen something similar to this when trying to check my Lycos mail a few times.

Hi

You may be right, but I wish stuff like this would identify itself.
Why can't it say what it's about in the Popup windows.?

I've checked out Java and a few other things but I don't know for sure what it was and it hasn't come back since.

So I guess I'll just forget about it for now.

I've run Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware and neither one showed anything, not even a cookie.
