Hi All,

I wanted to install Windows 7 today, but I get stuck when it asks me for drivers for my SATA DVD Drive (Asus 2014L1T Drive).

I have tried selecting the Drivers from the Motherboard CD, but nothing seems to work..

I am installing Windows 7 RC7100 64Bit, but it happens on 32Bit install as well.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

It seems like you're encountering a common issue during the Windows 7 installation where the setup is asking for drivers for your SATA DVD Drive. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this problem:

Solution 1: Use a Different Installation Disk or USB Drive

  • Sometimes, the installation media might have errors. Try using a different Windows 7 installation disk or create a new bootable USB drive with the Windows 7 ISO.

    Solution 2: Check BIOS Settings

  • Enter your computer's BIOS settings and check if the SATA mode is set to AHCI. You may need to change it to IDE or RAID mode temporarily during the installation process.

Solution 3: Prepare Drivers on a USB Drive

    1. Download the SATA drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer's website on another computer.
    2. Extract the drivers to a USB drive.
    3. During the Windows 7 installation process, when prompted for drivers, insert the USB drive and select the folder containing the SATA drivers.

      Solution 4: Use Compatibility Mode

[]Try running the installation in Compatibility Mode by right-clicking on the setup.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".

Solution 5: Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

    [
]Ensure that your motherboard's BIOS is up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.

    Solution 6: Verify Hardware Compatibility

  • Confirm that your ASUS 2014L1T Drive is compatible with Windows 7. Check the ASUS website for any specific Windows 7 drivers or compatibility information. By following these steps, you should be able to proceed with the Windows 7 installation without encountering the driver issue for your SATA DVD Drive. If you continue to face issues, feel free to provide additional details for further assistance.
