Windows 7 BSOD on my Dads laptop

slickshot

New Member
Hi, I am new to these threads and I need help with a BSOD. I am unable to get the CPU Z thing until saturday. I was only able to get the minidumps and the laptop model. The laptop is a HP notebook Dv6 with windows 7 home premium sp1.

It would be great if I can get this fixed before Saturday though. I hope the compressed minidumps will be enough. Thanks in advance and I really hope I can get some help.

While waiting for a reply:
- make sure the laptop isn't overheating. Put it on a hard surface and use a laptop cooling fan if at all possible. Blow out all the vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or a vacuum as they can damage things).
- run these free hardware diagnostics: Link Removed - Invalid URL

^pretty much what he said, keep your computer running for a while on a flat surface (not on your lap/bed), if possible get some sort of cooler (like these: laptop cooler - Google Search) and put your laptop on top of that.

Also make sure not to stress your computer - try running one program at a time for about an hour or so and see what happens.

sorry for the long reply but I did manage to get the CPU Z thing. Also the laptop never really overheats it is well ventilated and all that. As for stressing it out, It is very random. So sometimes I would be on Youtube or Facebook and I'll get a BSOD. It has never happened to me during a game but I am sure it will one day.View attachment cpuz.rar

Please run the hardware diagnostics that I suggested above.
Also, please un-install/reinstall AVG as it's mentioned in several of the BSOD's

I got BSOD's before AVG. The only reason I use it is because I always get an error from MSE when trying to run a scan. But I will preform a hardware check the next chance I get. TY for the fast replies by the way. You guys are great!
