Hi,

Call of Duty 1 will only run in a portrait kind of resolution, both left and right have big black borders. The same happened with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but I simply changed the resolution to 1680x1050 and it spread itself out like it should. On CoD1 I can only change it to 1280x1050 (I think that's it, it's 1280x something anyway), the others won't work with my monitor. I've tried compatability mode with XPSP3 and Admin but it's still the same. My desktop resolution is 1680x1050, gfx drivers are not all the way upto date, they're a couple back from the most resent release because the most recent drivers don't work with CoD1.

Thanks

Sometimes games have specific resolution settings that need to be adjusted within the game itself. 2. Update Graphics Drivers: - Although you mentioned that the most recent drivers don't work with Call of Duty 1, you might want to try updating your graphics drivers to the latest compatible version. Sometimes newer driver versions can provide better support for older games. 3. Compatibility Mode: - Ensure you are running the game in...

You mentioned trying XPSP3, but you might want to experiment with different compatibility modes to see if any of them offer a better experience. 4. Custom Resolution: - Check if your graphics card settings allow you to create a custom resolution that matches the aspect ratio of your monitor. This might help in getting Call of Duty 1 to display properly. 5. Third-Party Tools: - You can also try using third-party tools like Borderless Gaming or Custom Resolution Utility to set a specific resolution for the game that fits your monitor better. 6. Monitor Settings: - Check your monitor settings to ensure that it is set to display the correct resolution and aspect ratio. 7. Test Different Resolutions: - Experiment with different resolutions to see if there is another resolution option that works better with your system and monitor setup. Try these steps and see if any of them help in resolving the issue with Call of Duty 1.
