How can I add a Web address to the desk top and or tiles?

Using Google for example, enter Google in Edge search box and enter. To save the web-link, click on the star icon and you can save it as a bookmark. The star icon is on the top right of the Edge browser.

That doesn't make it a desk top icon. It will make it a favorite. I want to make a desk top icon.

Right click empty spot on desktop
click new
click shortcut
paste link
rename shortcut to whatever you want
