Hello, my desktop shortcuts suddenly don't have the little arrow that should be located at the bottom left of the icon showing that the icon is a shortcut. Because of this I can't pin anything to the task bar. Is there a setting I can change to fix this?

Solution

You can put the shortcut arrow back,,, but this is not preventing you from pinning to the Taskbar.
Something else is causing this problem.

Some icons can not be pinned directly to the taskbar, but must be pinned to existing icons on the taskbar (example: ".CHM" Help Files, ZIP files).
I didn't know that prevented "pinning". Do you have any kind of tweak app on your machine? Most of these (including TuneUp Utilities) have an option to remove the shortcut arrow.

If you have such an app, it should allow you to put the arrow back.
