Windows 7 Display Drivers Constantly Crashing

Myth

New Member
Hi,

I've done a search but seems like everyone is having another kind of problem than me.

Every time I play a game or even try to open the nVidia control panel I get continuous crashes and I can't do anything at all.

Here's one of the reports (all are the same)

If I need to provide any other info please let me know, thanks.

which driver are you using?

I'm using the default ones that game with the card and it gave no problems ever since I had it and I usually play the same games.

I've tried downloading new drivers but that didn't fix the issue, I've done a clean re-install of my drivers with driver sweeper too.

Can you post your system spec and also is your bios the latest version? When you crash is it an actual bsod? If so please post the dmp files connected.

Manufacturer:Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Processor:Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory:2046MB RAM
Video Card:NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Monitor:Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card:Realtek HD Audio output

Also, I have no idea about my BIOS version, but I'm not getting any blue screens.

Can you remember when the issue started? If so you might be able to try a system restore? Us this app and please post your system specs: SIV - System Information Viewer Stuff like posting that you have a gigabyte motherboard is not enough information. I need the actual name of the motherboard and not just manufacturer. The above app will help you with this tho..

Hi, apologies for not getting back sooner but real life took precedent.. Here is the web page for your motherboard. Please ensure your bios is the latest version.

Link Removed - Invalid URL

Also could you check your C:Windows/Minidump folder to see if you do have any dmp files you can post.

I've downloaded the BIOS and ran it, it seems that the display drivers are normal since I haven't got them to crash.
Also I the minidump folder is empty.

Thanks for the help.
