Please help me. I have a dell laptop running on windows 7 OS. Whenever I turn it on and I click on any icon, I get a pop up message asking me if I want to delete the icon and send to the recycle bin. Is this a virus or what? What should I do?

Hi

You can try this...

Open the command prompt as administrator.
Type...

SFC /scannow

and hit enter.
It will scan all your system files looking for errors and repair them if it can.

I really don't see other people reporting this problem so it's not something common.
If worse comes to worse you may have to do a repair install, but start with the scan.

Anyone else have any ideas?

If you decide to do this back up your data first, this process should leave it all intact, but better safe then sorry.

Make sure your Delete Key isn't stuck.

Run Malwarebytes...

I'd also run SuperAntiSpyware...

http://superantispyware.com/

If neither of those helps come back.

Thank you Mike. I ran the superantispyware and removed the 31 items identified as spy. However, the problem still persist. Please what else can I do? Thank you.
