Windows 7 Icons pinned to Taskbar

Most of the icons pinned in my Taskbar stay where I put the. However, a couple of them move whenever I reboot. How can I keep them where I want? Thanks.......

What icons are they. Did you "Pin" them to the taskbar? Is the taskbar locked?

Could what you see be a currently running version of the program?

Are you running any utility to modify the taskbar?

I feel stupid!! The problem was that one of the icons wasn't pinned - but I had the program in the startup group. Thanks for putting me on the right track.
