Windows 7 Installation stuck at expanding

I have tried everything. The image file has the correct MD5,I burned the image at lowest speed,tried multiple programs like Infra Recorder,Img Burn,Nero. The install gets stuck at Expanding Files at 10% or 30% at one time. I'm all out of ideas...

I'm installing a custom install not upgrade on my win xp desktop. Partition has 15+ GB's. I was able to install it while updating from vista on my Laptop.

I have the same problem and now we can compare for common things here:

1. Do you use an older system (3+ years old)

2. do you use a AGP graphics card/have a mobo with AGP

3. onboard sound/video? If so name of chips

4. mobo model #

5. current BIOS

I really think together we can figure this out because I have yet to find somebody else with the same problem
