W7 Home Premium on both machines. BT wireless network. Homegroup created on desktop.

Laptop is set up to join the Homegroup and connects perfectly. Files can be transferred in both directions. Laptop has all sharing options activated. However, the desktop says no other machines are in the Homegroup!

Laptop is running McAfee which seems to have the correct permissions set for access as far as I can see. Desktop is running Norton - again permissions set so far as I'm aware.

Help please?

My guess is Norton. Have you considered trying a different security app and seeing if it makes a difference?

Solution
Not yet - system was slightly upset when somebody spilled a glass of red wine over the laptop keyboard. Now have new laptop and will start again.

Ok... no worries. Let us know if you need further help.. Good luck with the new machine.. :)
