I've completely run out of ideas. I have an HD3200 graphics integrated with the Gigabyte MA780G-UD3H motherboard, and what looks like Realtek audio. It currently glares the text in the sound panel, "Not plugged in." Well, yes, it is.

I've tried everything. Reinstalling the drivers, rolling back the drivers, uninstalling, reinstalling windows, changing the BIOS around, etc. Still no HDMI sound output.

Is there a way to fool windows into thinking it is indeed plugged in, or a way to fix the problem itself?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

    []Disable and Re-enable HDMI Audio:
    • Open Device Manager (Windows Key + X, then select Device Manager).
    • Under "Sound, video and game controllers," locate and right-click on the HDMI audio device. Choose "Disable device" and then "Enable device."

    ]Check Windows Audio Service:
    • Press Win + R, type "services.msc," and hit Enter.
    • Locate "Windows Audio" service, ensure it is running, and set to start automatically.
  2. Advanced Troubleshooting:
    • If basic steps don't resolve the issue, consider using third-party software like "Audio Switcher" to manage audio output devices efficiently.

      Additional Suggestions:

      • HDMI Cable: Try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any cable-related issues.
      • Compatibility: Ensure that your hardware components (graphics card, motherboard, and audio device) are compatible with each other.
      • BIOS Settings: Check the BIOS settings for any audio-related configurations that might be affecting HDMI output.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the HDMI sound output issue on your system. If the problem persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
