Windows 7 "Starting Windows" BSoD - No Dumps

I've been getting a BSoD right after the initial 'Starting Windows' screen. No matter how I boot it won't let me past this screen. So far I've tried Debugging Mode, Safe Mode and Last Known Good Config. All do the same thing.

I think the error was because of a Windows Update I performed last night and then today on boot I get this.

I've got a secondary Windows install on another HDD so I've been able to piece together what updates I think it was, but when looking for the dumps mentioned in the sticky of this forum I can't find anything. I've also tried a restore but whatever reason (unknown to me) my restore has been disabled. And a startup repair appears to do nothing.

If there's anything I can do from the seperate copy of Windows please let me know as other tests on that copy just troubleshoot that install of Windows which is of no help.

The Updates I think are as follows:
KB979538
KB2362765
KB2158563
KB915597

The BSoD message is:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928,0xFFFFFFFFC0000034,0x000000000 0000000,0x0000000000000000)

Try booting from 7 install DVD -> Repair Computer -> Startup Repair Options:

- Startup Repair
- System Restore -> choose a restore point manually
- command prompt -> chkdsk /r

Your crash dumps could identify outdated drivers in your system,
C:\Windows\Minidump
