I am trying to open the web page to http://www.afstores.com/index.html and it keeps telling me "This page can't be displayed." After using the "Fix Connection Problems", the following appears:
Problems Found
Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (http://www.afstores.com/index.html) is not responding.
http://www.afstores.com/index.html is only this particular web site that I can't connect to. I need this site to print out copies of my wife's paychecks.
My question is how do I fix this problem? I tried everything. I tried IE 8,9,10 and 11. I tried Google Chrome and Firefox. Other computers--my sister's, parents-in-law, even "Associated Food Stores" corporate office computer--can access it. But my daughter CAN'T access it (http://www.afstores.com/index.html) using her lap top and our Wi-Fi.
What is wrong with this web site. Is it a setting that I'm not aware was changed? This is driving me insanely crazy!! Can you please help me?

Try temporarily exiting any AV or Firewall you have installed.

We have had our Norton Security Suite for almost a year now, and we haven't had a problem with any web sites until 2 or 3 weeks ago with the http://www.afstores.com/index.html , but I'll try it anyway...

I disabled the Firewall, but it didn't work. I don't know how to disable the AV.
Would you be able to help me using the Windows Remote Assistance tool? Because, honestly, I am out of options, and we really need to print out my wife's checks.

1. I have not used Norton for very many years but would expect that you should be able to disable it from right clicking the Norton icon in your task bar.

A bit of elimination might help here to start with:

my daughter CAN'T access it (http://www.afstores.com/index.html) using her lap top and our Wi-Fi.

2. Try another pc on your wifi.
3. Try your daughter's laptop on another wifi.

4. Also try going the the home page for the website to see if there is something in the index page specifically or if the address is being blocked: http://www.afstores.com/

5. In case you are having trouble with the DNS (converting web address to ip address see if you can access the site directly by entering its IP address into the address bar of your browser: 205.142.14.441

Curious, while I have no problem with a regular url in getting to the site, when I copy/paste that IP address, I get this:

Internal communication error

Check that the address is spelled correctly, or try searching for the site.

Well, I don't have another computer to try on our wifi, but I'll have my daughter try her lap top on another wifi. It might take her a couple days to do so. I tried the IP address in the address bar of three browsers (IE 11, Firefox, and Google Chrome) and none of them worked.

It comes up on my sister's computer in another town, so it has something to do with our wifi or computer. I even tried the home page http://www.afstores.com/ and it still didn't work.

Does it have something to do with that web site not communicating with our wifi or computer any more? Because it used to just 3 weeks ago.

One last thing, would you be able to help me out remotely online?

By the way, Norton should be fine with that web site, because we've had it (Norton) for almost a year.

Just a shot in the dark, but the fact that both your daughter's and your computer have the same problem, and apparently is new, suggests a common cause, which could be that your daughter changed something on both of them. I would go to the advanced tab of Internet Options and reset it to defaults, and see if anything changes.

I generally use teamviewer for remote assistance but many of the typical troubleshooting activities are denied you because the problem is communications related but it might be worth you installing it in case we decide to try that route. Because the problem arose only 3 weeks ago it may be worth looking to see if you have a system restore point available prior to that date as the problem could be down to a software update.

I just installed TeamViewer9 (the option to control my computer). I have a TeamViewer9 Personal Password and TeamViewer account. If you think we could use this option, just let me know a time.

My only available restore point is a backup period from 7/14/13 to12/29/13. That is 5 months before the web site problem. I don't think it would work. Am I right? Or wrong?

Anything that takes you back to before the problem started could help so it's worth a try. Will probably mean that you get a backlog of updates to install but if it sorts the problem then worth it. Bear in mind tho that if it does sort it then you need to ber vary careful about what you subsequently allow as update as it it likely to reinstate the problem.

If you still feel it would help to try some remote access debugging I should be around for about the next four hours tho not always at at my pc.

Actually, I got it backwards. What I should have said, is that my only restore point has a back up period ending 12/29/13, which is a couple weeks after the web site problem. Do you think it could still work, though?

Sorry, I was gone all morning long.

For the sake of time and my lack of knowledge for troubleshooting computers, remote assistance would be best for me. I don't want to be tagging each other, or missing each other, though. Give me a specific time. My time right now is 2:24 PM MST. Are we allowed to give out phone #'s?
