Windows 8 Unable to load any webpages

Windows 8 has been working great since I got my laptop in late December. We had internet issues Thursday night and had to have service out to get our internet back up and running yesterday afternoon.

Now I can send/receive email using Outlook, Dropbox updates and a game I play that accesses the internet connects fine. None of my Windows Apps that rely on browser connectivity will run (Facebook App, etc.). I've tried connecting to websites using IE, Chrome and Firefox but all return an error that the network cannot be accessed.

All other devices in the house can connect with no issues.

Sorry, I restored my laptop to the factory defaults and now can browse normally. Here is the ipconfig now that it is working normally again.

You have internet yes i.e. can you ping that other dns address?

at this point I'd be thinking about a reinstall of windows because the network driver itself could be corrupt.

p.s. would you mind posting a ipconfig /all for me Sonny so I can see if your NetBOIS is on or off?

@ Sonny thanks that does help… confirms the dns suffix and NetBIOS settings.

@ Laure, the remaining things I would try… in no special order until 4;

1. Remove the Bluetooth network connection from the laptop.

2. Remove any software that monitors the network i.e. I assume this laptop comes with an anti-virus so remove whatever it is and install Avast or Avg instead… this just needs to be a temp thing to remove it as a possible cause of the block.

3. Beg, borrow or steel another laptop from outside the current network and just see if that one will surf the net from your place… Yes, confirms the issues are on this laptop and not a fault in the account or your router.

4. Finally I'd Re-install Windows (best) or roll it back to factory (almost as good)... depending on what kind of backup system you have in place.
