Take it or leave it, but I have read, on another forum, from one of the Pundit "experts", that it is important to install KB 3038357, updates, as a prelude to installing the next build.

Hints of a new Build.. Maybe even later today? It obviously wasn't yesterday when the article was written but what does the figure of 1316 relate to. I checked that it isn't minutes or hours until release as 1316 hours is 54 days and 1316 minutes is 21hours so it could be but nah ..... Anyone got an idea?

Gabe Aul on Twitter has dropped a single clue which could help us figure out the launch date of the next build drop for Windows Insiders. In response to a question regarding the desktop technical preview, he says "1316" is the key to solving the puzzle.

So far, a number of people are attempted their guess. It appears was a leap year in 1316, and that leap year started on a Thursday, which is today. Not only that, but 16-1-3 = 12, meaning Feb 12th too.

Today, Gabe Aul has confirmed on Twitter that the next build to arrive for Windows Insiders on the desktop will be from the fbl_impressive branch, which means it's likely that the next build we see hit the public will (finally) be from the 100xx range of builds.
Last week, we saw a number of screenshots leak from build 10009 in the winmain_prs branch. That build included Spartan and a few new icons as well as a slight UI adjustment on the taskbar. It's possible that all these changes + more will make their way into the next public build.

So sadly we now join with the numerologists, mystics, astrologers, seekers after the philosophers stone et al in abusing our lady, The Queen of the Sciences (Mathematics for the uninitiated), trying to construct something significant from an infinite set of processes, combinations and permutations of four digits. How she must weep!

Too right, Pat. And, li8ke astrologers who mostly get it wrong, I have just read on another forum, again from one of those "Pundits" that we may not get another full build until June. If that is confirmed, I might wipe 10 and come back later.

Sigh of relief!! Just read this. I cannot track down the real source on facebook, but HH Gabiel is reputed to have just said this.

Gabriel Aul, who's in charge of the insider programs at Microsoft, revealed that the next Windows 10 Technical Preview for PCs would arrive in the last week of February, while new patched could be shipped in the next 7 days.

Microsoft has rolled out a total of three hotfixes today for Windows 10 build 9926, the latest build of Windows 10 available for desktop users who are enrolled in the Windows Insider Program. These fixes have been rolled out in preparation for the release of the next desktop build.

Microsoft has rolled out KB3040021, KB3038930, and KB3021952 to Windows Update for those of you running Windows 10 build 9926. KB3021952 is an IE security update, while the other two are fixes to prepare Windows 10 to update to the next newest build when it comes available -- which should be very soon.

Have you, by chance, applied the update hack, Sonny?

This is the MS comments, so I think if you "check for updates", you might find it waiting.

This article describes an update to Windows 10 Technical Preview, KB3038357, released February 10, 2015. This update will be offered though Windows Updates to users of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, build 9926. This update will assist with installing future builds.

How to obtain the update

This update is offered when you check for updates, or if automatic updates are turned on, using build 9926 of Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Hints of a new build with screenshots toboot.. (Windows update looks the same.. :()
Screenshots from Windows 10 build 10022 have leaked onto the internet from the upcoming public branch fbl_impressive. WinBeta understands that this build mainly focuses on under-the-hood improvements and doesn't include many new features.

It's likely that this build could be sent to Insiders next week, as 10022 is stable. Spartan is not included in this build, as Spartan is still not ready for primary usage and is missing a number of features.
