Hello all,

I started realizing that every time I minimized or closed Firefox WLM would pop up for some strange random reason. So I changed the computability to Vista so it would sit in the icon tray but by doing that it changed my taskbar to the color blue because apparently its not compatible with any other taskbar color scheme.

I do not like the blue so I tried to change it back by running WLM normally, but for some reason whenever I open WLM my taskbar still changes back to blue! I tried unistalling and reinstalling but I didn't work. I did just realize that if I click on the Custumize link(to select what icons appear or not) I can find a Msn icon, so i think if I am able to remove it from there the computer will stop thinking i'm using that icon to use WLM. Does anyone know how to do this??

Thanks Dillon

It sounds like you are facing an issue with Windows Live Messenger (WLM) affecting the color of your taskbar in Windows. To resolve this problem and prevent Windows Live Messenger from changing your taskbar color to blue each time you open it, you can try the following steps: 1. Removing Windows Live Messenger Icon from the Taskbar Notification Area: - Right-click on the taskbar and select "Taskbar settings." - Scroll down and click on "Select which icons appear on the taskbar." - Look for Windows Live Messenger (or any related MSN icon) and toggle it off to hide it from the taskbar icons. 2. Preventing Windows Live Messenger from Changing Taskbar Color: - Ensure Windows Live Messenger is not set to run at startup: - Press...

Compatibility Mode Settings: - If changing the compatibility settings caused this issue, consider resetting the compatibility mode to the default settings for Windows Live Messenger. 4. Registry Edit (Advanced): - If the issue persists, you may need to edit the registry to resolve it. This involves identifying and modifying specific registry keys related to Windows Live Messenger and taskbar color settings. Only proceed with this step if you are comfortable with editing the registry. Hopefully, by following these steps, you can prevent Windows Live Messenger from changing your taskbar color to blue. If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, feel free to ask for more guidance.
