I have used Windows as long as it has been available. Windows up to XP was very useful. So far as I am concerned, XP was the best and most useful. I have now used Win 10 for about 2 years. Most of the time, when I turn the computer on to do some meaningful work, I am interrupted by upgrades. Microsoft takes control of the computer and can't be interrupted. Thankfully, I still have computers using other versions of Windows and can go to them to complete the task. Tonight, a Win 10 update took 2.25 hours to complete on a new Core I7 2.5MHZ computer with 150 MHZ connection.
I will NEVER buy another computer with a Microsoft operating system on it.

Windows 10 is by far better than XP. You can schedule updates and reboot. An upgrade (different than a update) can certainly take over an hour. These introduce new features and roll-up all the updates these are not forced either nor is the reboot.
