I have several problems with my new computer. I have uninstalled Avast and Firebug (plugin to Firefox) but it did not help.. :( I sure would like to have Firebug installed but that would not work?
Thanks in advance!
I am receiving the message that my computer has recently recovered from an unexpected shutdown. Actually it is happening on two of my PCs that are both running Windows 7 and Office 2007. Both are aslo running Avast for virus protection. One PC was purchased about 3 months ago and the other is...
This morning my computer restarted itself after carrying out a Windows Update, unprompted, as usual. However, when I woke up and logged in my wireless network would not allow me internet access.
Instead I get a yellow exclamation mark over the signal strength bars. In addition to this the...

Hi
I am using Windows 7 with a router connected to the internet.
On my main PC, which is connected to the router with a LAN cable, I have a couple of sites that I can not access. It gives me a Connection Reset in all browsers.
The curious thing is that all the other computers, connected to...

I found out eventually after a lot of frustration that Avast running on the Guest causes problems when updating the VMware Tools. If you don't disable the shields before the update when you reboot Guest the screen will not size properly. I don't know about other antivirus products. Just thought...

Hi,
So my computer's been running kinda slow lately, and it even shut down (I assume due to overheating) while playing Starcraft 2 yesterday. So I'm thinking I either have a virus, spyware, or just too many processes.
I attached a picture of my current processes, so can someone tell me what...
Hi All,
I have a 5 month old Dell Inspiron 1564 with a Dell WLAN 1397 Wireless card. I was having some trouble connecting to my wireless router, and as a last attempt to get it working, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for my wireless card, using a fresh download of the latest version...
I use Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit OS on a Lenovo G530 (so I'm having enough issues with my screen brightness, too).
About a week ago my computer's anti-virus security program, Avast, started detecting possible infections but when I went to take care of them, the program wouldn't do...

Well, this one is a bit perplexing. On startup this svchost process will start and run for approx 5 to 10 min. I am completely unable to access the internet until it stops. I have uninstalled AV programs ( Forticlient and Avast) to see if either of these were the cause, this was not the case. So...

For some reason, if I drop an file, any type, on my desktop, the same file appears in my "my music" folder. If I delete the file in either location, they are both deleted. I have scanned my computer with Microsoft Security Essentials as well as Avast, and no viruses have been found. I also...
I have been attempting to uninstall Avast 5 from my PC and Avast recommends doing this from Win 7 Safe Mode!
I went into Safe Mode and it will not accept my password (I know it is correct!) and then restarts back into Safe Mode asking me for my password again. If I am slow in entering the...
