I want to be prompted to save a file and where, when downloading from internet, at the moment it defaults to a folder not allocated, loaded Windows 7 yesterday, and downloaded AVG & Thunderbird, and I have to find them, your thoughts most appreciated.
It just started tonight, but AVG 9.0 is warning that this site (windows7forums.com) is infected and therefore being blocked. Has anyone else reporrted this? As soon as you access any page on your site the alert from AVG pops up.
What's going on?

Hi, after successfully installing windows 7 (my first windows install since XP, after which I moved to Ubuntu) and doing the initial set-up etc., installing my own anti virus software and MS Office etc, I thought it was time to let it update itself.

I tried all the forums so far and have not found the trick. With all options tried in Windows 7 as the forums state, one can not see the other non Windows 7 pc in

I have now tried about ten times to upgrade my 64bit Vista Ultimate to Win 7 64bit ultimate (retail version) without success. I get the error message every time at 86%. I have played with my RAM, went into msconfig and unchecked everything but Microsoft files, I have removed AVG free, removed...
Today, I upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate x64 to Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
The upgrade itself was a flawless procedure, but in the end, a couple of things screwed up.
For some reason, AVG 8.5 still isn't 'turned on' even after rebooting and 'turning it on' multiple times. I click the...
since it was closed I couldn't comment. Why not just do it right to begin with and get NOD32. There is no better antivirus out there that uses less resources than that one. yes, it's English, but we can forgive them for their birthplace. :p
I was adding something to my hosts file yesterday and in order to do so I removed the read-only from the entire system32 folder and all contents. After restarting the computer it wouldn't boot up so I figured this was the problem. I booting with the Win7 disc, and put read-only on the entire...
