Is anyone seeing any issues regarding hibernation on their laptops? Since upgrading to Windows 10 I've noticed that my laptop seems to be going into hibernation much more quickly than it did in Windows 7. I checked my settings and my screen saver settings and so on are setup to those...
If I leave my computer alone the screen will turn blank purple after a few minutes and no amount of keystrokes or mouse movement will bring it back. I have to let it sit until the screen saver comes on then it'll wake up normally. The computer boots to windows with no problems and otherwise...
My daughter has four kids, and therefore thousands of photos, whose top-level folder is the source for her screen saver random slide show. It runs all day when the computer is idle and frequently she spots an interesting one and she can stop and look at it -- but she would like to know if it's...
There are many things on the internet in ways to correct this issue. I had this problem for awhile now. I used some common sense and thought for a bit. Then I tried a disc clean-up first and then did a Disk Defragmenter.
Now the screen saver works just fine. I also did a system restore point...

Way back in the good old days I use to use a screen saver that had an option to require a password to unlock the screen saver. I looked at the options on all my default screen savers and that option is not available.
Also, if I use the sleep that requires my name & password, where do I see...
I get Windows 7 rebooting on its own under the following condition:
I power off the monitor and sometime later when I power it back on, I see that I am at the logon screen.
If I never power off the monitor, Windows does not reboot on its own.
I did change the power supply. sfc finds nothing...

I was running the "Improve Power Usage" utility from the Control Panel - Troubleshooting section. If you have a Screen Saver enabled, the troubleshooter will turn it off, but not recognize it has done so. The utility still shows the problem is not fixed.
It might be a glitch, but it seems...
G'day everyone,
Just a quick question. I've noticed that when I leave my pc for some time and the screen savers come on, then the screens go blank (my machine doesn't sleep or hibernate) when I use the pc again I can see that during the time the monitors had turned off, the CPU usage was at...
Currently I've had my new computer for the past month and only a few weeks ago it started giving me troubles. I turned off the screen saver and sleep mode as whenever I left my computer to idle it would BSOD randomly. Even with these features turned off my computer still blue screens and I have...
Win7 Home Premium, SP1. In spite of specs to use one of my personal folders, it appears to be getting pics from the Windows Photo Gallery. In addition, it is using pics sequentially, instead of shuffling the way it used to (Yes, the shuffling spec is checked). Any help?
I have a new system with an SSD. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Now my question is this. I know that 7 is supposed to handle Trim on the SSD when the system is idle. First of all will a screen saver be ok? Also how do I know Trim is in fact working?
Hello, guys!
How do I configure Windows 7 to lock my RDP session only (but not the console session) after predefined time of inactivity (idle)? By default Windows 7 does not disconnect or lock RDP sessions.

Having just come to Win7 from XP I am very impressed at how easily things work.
One minor thing missing that I liked on XP - when I set up the picture show screen saver on XP it can be set to show file reference for the pictures, which doesn't appear in Win7. I like to see where I have put these...
