Now that I have used XP Mode enough to feel safe with it, I want to remove the dual boot from my system. My boot drive has two partitions. Drive C boots to Windows 7 and D boots to XP. If I format drive D will I still be able to boot up in Windows 7?
Thanks in advance,
Cygnus333 (Chris)
Hi, I have XP Pro 32bit installed on a 160Gb Sata disc and I wanted to install the 64bit version of Windows 7 on another disc. My question is to protect my XP install should I disconnect the disc or is it safe to leave them both connected and just run a dual boot system.
Cheers

Hello all:
I've found several others having the same problem as I on this and other forums but no answer yet.
I have a home network that includes an XP-based home server of sorts. I hang my Drobo off that server and share it to my home Network. On all my other PC's I access it as my "N" drive...

I'm trying to install Windows 7 32-bit build 7000 on a new computer I had just built. Now, this is not because I'm choosing to, but because I couldn't install Windows Vista Home Premium either. I had to settle for something.
What happens is that my computer is booting regularly into the DVD...

Hi,
I'm currently setting up a Dual Boot Windows 7 and Windows XP. I installed Windows 7 first, then installed XP second, both installed on seperate partitions. Windows 7 is on the first partition, and XP on the second. When XP installed it overwrote Windows 7's boot.ini with it's own and now I...
I have Windows XP Pro installed on my 120GB. I had the bright idea of dual booting Windows 7. So, I decided I would put that on the 320GB. Windows 7 worked fine but would not dual boot with the XP install. The XP install is intact, but the only way to boot it is to unplug the 320GB Windows 7...

So, thinking about installing windows 7 on the laptop (ASUS m50vm), from what I understand the drivers are detected fine, and little to no issue to be had with the install.
Now i'm curious, as the only time I ever dual-booted, was with linux, which hated ntfs at the time, so if Iwere to...

All right, say I installed W7 from a DVD onto a partition on my hard drive... (I'm gonna give it 20 GB, since my HD is 640 GB)

Hi everyone. I've got 3 SATA HDs and 3 IDE HDs and Vista Business/XP installed on a dual-booting partition on one of the SATAs. I'm getting stuck at the Vista screen with the progress bar for 12 minutes before Vista boots. Once it's up, it works fine. Aero and everything. Hunk-Dory. Now, if I...
