I have been getting this blue screen message and its becoming increasingly more and more common. It takes my computer at lease three tries before I can get it to turn on. Meaning it will go through the start up process and then just shut off all i get is this blue screen message. Sometimes its says that my drivers are bad other times its my boot manager is corrupt. I dont know what it is, I have done 3 system restores to earlier points in hopes that it will fix the problem and it doesn't. I have installed and used a registry cleaner done nothing again. I have deleted all my programs that I installed about the time this started and that has not done anything either. I am so lost is there something out there i can do before I try to call HP and they tell me its going to cost me thousands of dollar to fix it.
This is what I am getting

THis is what I keep getting each time it goes down I can be in the middle of something and poof it happens, HELP ME PLEASE

I do not read dump files, but the BSOD forum does. Aside from that, it looks like your system is having problems reading the hard drive, or the drive could have problems with corruption. Can you boot to a DVD normally, and remember, if the drive is bad it might still mess up your boot?

Hi

You may have a virus of some sort, download and run Malewarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware.
Do you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed?
If not do that too.

Download SuperAntiSpyware 4.48.1000 - FileHippo.com

If you don't find any spyware then...

Since you don't have anything installed I would back up any data you don't want to lose and then reinstall Windows.

You can do a repair install, it shouldn't take more then a half hour or so.

Repair Install - Windows 7 Forums

If you don't have a Windows disk, check the documentation that came with your computer to see how to restore it from the backup partition that HP probably placed on it.

Good luck!

I have been trying to read up on this Intel Chip problem that might cause problems with hard drive or optical drive access. What type of HP system do you have?

I have a Microsoft security essentials and windows defender. Both have scanned my computer and No spyware or virus of any kind. I really am trying to avoid a system restore. I just want to isolate the problem and from what I am seeing its a hard drive issue. Thank you for the advice.

I have a pavilion with a amd turion 2 core processor no intel. From some of the blue screen messages I have seen its saying its a hard drive issue but how do I isolate the drive so I can try to fix the problem. I know its not a virus or spyware anything of that nature. The last resort and I mean last is to do a restore back to factor settings. Any thought on how I would find out what drive might be causing it?

yeah I have no issue booting up a dvd. It happens about 5 to 10 minutes after the computer starts up. This is really fustrating because I dont know where to look for the issue. If it is a driver how can I tell which one it is?

MSE is the big brother of Windows Defender. If you try to run Defender, you should get a message saying it is turned off, at least that is how mine seems to work. I like to use Malwarebytes, as suggested. It may find things MSE will not, and it does not have to stay running, just run a scan and turn it off.

Have you checked the hard drive?

Have you tried opening an Administrative Command Window and typing:

sfc /scannow

Let it finish to see if anything shows up about your system files.

Will HP replace the drive?

Did you set up the system yourself or did it come with Win 7?

Do you show any warning flags in Device Manager?

Have you attached the mini dump file? You can zip it if you want and attach using the paperclip.

Have you put any drivers on yourself, or do you show any device driver updates in Windows Update?

When you say it starts 5-10 minutes after the computer starts up, do you mean even if you were to boot to a live Linux DVD it would still have problems? If you have not already done so, it might try.

Is your system well ventilated?

Open event viewer and see if any errors or warnings show up around the time you have problems.

The Win 7 Repair install would require a copy of Win 7. This would not wipe out your previous install.
