Windows 7 HOW TO DISPLAY LONG DATE IN SYSTRAY

I've scoured the net to no avail. I DO NOT WANT TO RAISE THE TASK BAR, I simply want to see what I used to see before this glitch occurred. I've adjusted the region settings and everything else I could find, no go. My lap top, HP Win 7 64 bit, displays the entire name of the day, the short name of the month, the number of the day, and the full year. However my desktop only shows the time and the number of the date but I can't alter the SHORT DATE to show words. I can't figure out how to default to LONG DATE instead of SHORT DATE. None of the mods I make to SHORT DATE work. My desk rig is likewise Win 7 64 bit. Current updates etc. Any insights appreciated. Thanks.

This guy shows you how to make it like you laptop:

Thanks for that. I have discovered that guy's web page and have attempted, repeatedly, the process he's posted.

This is what I want to see in the Systray under the time:

Monday, November 12, 2012 or Monday, Nov 12, 2012

That's either possible or it's not. If it's not then I'm done, if it is then what's the procedure for accomplishing that?

Thanks again.

put dddd, MMM dd, yyyy in Short date and you will get Monday, Nov 12, 2012
