Need help deciding on 2 components for new pc build

Ah yes, I forgot about the conspiracy theories.. I'm sure it's this your actually referring to:
Microsoft says new processors will only work with Windows 10

These processor's will of course still be able to run Windows 7 or 8.1 it's just that they will no longer be supported with updates.

Yrsh, I'm sure they will work with 7 or 8.1 still.
Problem with 7 & 8.1 losing Microsoft support for updates sooner or later, too.

No, I was going by I think it was a article I think that Tom's hardware posted between 3-4 weeks ago. It was either Tom's, PC World or Maximum PC on Intel not producing anymore 1st generation Skylake cpu's after sometime in January 2018.
Then I'm thinking back to what Microsoft did right after 10 was released.
It may not be in 2018, but I'll bet some time in 2019 Skylake isn't supported in future 10 version updates.
The same will probably happen with Ryzen down the road after Ryzen 2 catches on.
Then we have the new i9 & Threadripper cpu's with more speed and more cores/threads for each, compared to today's most common quad-core cpu's in the majority of pc's/laptop's/ultrabook's/tablet's use by most now.
The bulk of software & game manufacturer's are now basically being forced to catchup to the hardware coming out now or that's already out now.

Microsoft aren't going to stop cpu's working with their current OS. The windows 7 thing made sense as they want new cpu's on windows 10, but to stop cpu's working will new builds just won't happen. Mostly as the average user doesn't have coffee lake or Ryzen. So it'd be suicide to block old cpu's.

Oh well, I got my Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate & WWE 2K18 Deluxe purchases out of the way.
Forza's downloading now and WWE 2K18 comes out next Wednesday or the following Tuesday.
I saved $10.00 by purchasing the Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate code from Amazon, instead of buying it in the Windows Store.
My game purchases are done fdor a while now.
Next month I start on the racing wheel saving for it's December purchase.
Then a month break and then the Ryzen upgrade parts starts happening.

I just tried the latest Forza demo and was extremely disappointed.

The first Forza demo on win 10 was fantastic and almost a complete game whilst the following two have contained less and less.

It's still downloading on my pc.
For right now, I'm basically just gonna get the settings done and maybe do one sungle run.
I'm basically really waiting to mess with all my car games until I get the racing wheel.
One thing I definitely need to try with Horizon 3, it has my first car in it. 4977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
The one I had My friend Paul & I did some customizations on it.
Some I know I won't be able to do, like the 1986 Tans Am's cloth seat's.
I also got a 455 for mine and let Paul work it for me.
Pretty sure I had one of the fastest car's in New Jersey at the time.
Back then I worked in a car dealership, so I had a lot of connections for getting car stuff cheap and sometimes even free.
Custom traction bars (free)- Mechanic at the dealership made them for me.
Seat's- free (friend at a junkyard gave them to me.
I could literally make the front tires come off the ground in any gear. That's how fast it was.
Forza Horizon 3 has the 1977 & 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am's in it.
The biggest factory engine in the 77 was a 400. The 73's was a 455.
I'm gonna see if I can put the 455 in the 77 somehow in the game.
Then I'll be right at home, as I know it like the back of my hand.

Which demo did you try Horizon 3 or Motorsport 7 ?

Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate is all setup.
God my Xbox 360 controller stinks for car games.
I'll leave it alone until I get the racing wheel.

Had my Corsair AIO fail lastnight. Not something I want to witness again. Idle temps from 35 to thermal shutdown in less than a minute.

Damn.
The worst I had with my 2 pasr Corsair a,i,o,'s was when my H-80 hose broke after I pulled it out of my case to put a new motherboard in.
Then on my old pc previous to this pc's H-100 basically stopped cooling my pc and when I pulled it out and drained it, hardly any fluid was in it.
That's why I like what I have now.
I may be a newb when it comes to changing lines on it, etc., but at least all it's parts are replaceable and I can drain it and refill it myself.
That's one of the reason's I wanted it.
Then once I get used to changing the hoses and clamps, I can add a video card to it's loop down the road if I want.

I just downloaded some videos on the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
I figure I'll download and install Fall Creators Update on October 18th, once Microsoft makes it available to the Media Creation Tool.
If anybody get's one of the Mixed Reality headsets, could you do a test with it for me?
Thanks to my diabetes, I'm physically blind in my right eye.
I need to know if the headsets are worth it if you can only see out of one eye.
Could you guy's that buy a Mixed Reality headset with the controller, close one ye for a minute or two while using it and let me know, if it's worth me getting?
I know the manufacturer's would most likely lie just to get the sale.

I think it was motorsport 7.

On to Dishonored 2 at the moment which is proving to be a great game.

I still haven't really played the first Dishonored.

Maybe, I'll play it some tonight after dinner.
Debating on if I want to get Forza Motorsport 7 in a few month's after Turn 10 fixes the bug's.
It would be a purchase after the racing wheel & shifter.

I managed to finish the first game without killing a soul and I really enjoy this aspect of the game. There is always an alternative route with Dishonored 2 going further with the added bonus of being able to play the game as either Corvo or Emily Kaldwin.

That sound's good, but for me games are now on the back burner, as far as purchases go.
I need to get the racing wheel and shifter out of the way.
Even if I do decide to get Forza Motorsport 7, it still takes a backseat to the AM4 cpu, motherboard & Flare x ram upgrades.
After those and probably a month spending break, I'll do a few more games.
By the time I have the AM4 upgrade done, it may also be video card upgrade time.
For the hell of it I checked EKWB's site last night and they have waterblock's for RX Vega 64 & RX Vega 56 video cards now.
It's now just a matter of if I want to risk taking a video card apart and upgrade it myself to water-cooling or just go with a aftermarket card with better cooling.
I'd be a newb, as far as taking a video card apart and unsure whether I want to risk it.
