If you're having trouble opening ports on your Windows 7 Ultimate system despite having DMZ enabled on your router and disabling both the Windows 7 firewall and ESET Smart Security 4 firewall, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot port forwarding issues: 1. Check Port Forwarding Configuration: - Double-check the port forwarding settings on your router to ensure that you have correctly configured the port range 55550-55560 to be forwarded to your Windows 7 system's local IP address. 2. Verify Windows Firewall Settings: - Although you mentioned that you disabled the Windows 7 firewall, it's a good idea to double-check the settings. -...
- Re-enable the Windows 7 firewall temporarily and create an exception for the specific ports you want to open (55550-55560). Then, try to access the ports again to see if they are now open. 3. Check Antivirus Software Settings: - Even though you disabled ESET Smart Security 4, sometimes remnants of security software can still interfere with network traffic. Uninstall ESET Smart Security 4 temporarily and check if the ports can be accessed. 4. Use Port Checking Tools: - You can use online port-checking tools like "Can You See Me" to verify if the ports are open and accessible from the internet. This can help determine if the issue is with the port forwarding configuration or with the Windows system itself. 5. Update Router Firmware: - Ensure that your router has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, outdated router firmware can cause issues with port forwarding. If after following these steps the ports are still not opening, it might be worth considering if there are any network restrictions from your ISP or if there are any other network devices causing interference. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific error messages while attempting to open these ports.
