I have now come to the conclusion that there is no sure answer to the unexpected shutdown problem. I have tried all the suggestions but nothing prevents this happening. The box that advises sending to microsoft for a solution does nothing.
Advice to look at the event viewer doesn't help because most of the stuff there is over my head and the check disc routine doesn't provide any answers. Seems I shall just have to live with it until some wise owl finds a solution.

Have you checked your Link Removed due to 404 Error, what does it say?
I am not familiar ith event viewer but does this help?
