Hello,

Recently I launched an application that went into fullscreen, and whenever I quit, I was in Windows Basic.
I tried everything, using services, changing the options in performance... etc.
However, If I unplug my second monitor, I can access Windows Aero just fine.

I have already tried:
Restarting.
Using Services to Stop and Start Desktop Window Session Manager.
Used sfc /scannow to recover corrupt files.
Refreshing my WEI (i couldn't).

Solution
It appears that having a second monitor connected to your setup might be causing the issue with Windows Aero not being accessible when you exit fullscreen mode. Here are a few recommendations you can try to resolve this problem: 1. Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) to download and install the latest drivers compatible with your graphics card. 2. Adjust Aero Settings: - Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalize." - Click on the "Windows Color" option. - Check the box next to "Enable transparency" for Aero. - Save your settings. 3. Reset Visual Effects: - Open the "Performance Options" window by searching for "Adjust the...

Reset Visual Effects: - Open the "Performance Options" window by searching for "Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows" in the Start menu. - Select the "Visual Effects" tab. - Choose "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer" or customize the settings to include Aero effects. 4. Check Compatibility: Some older applications may interfere with Aero. Try running the application in compatibility mode or check for updates from the software developer. 5. Reconnect Monitors: If disconnecting the second monitor fixes the issue, try reconnecting it after Aero is working correctly. This might reset the display settings and enable Aero without issues. 6. Check for Aero Troubleshooting: Windows has built-in troubleshooting tools that can help diagnose and fix Aero-related issues. Search for "Troubleshooting" in the Control Panel to access relevant troubleshooters. By following these steps, you may be able to resolve the issue with Windows Aero not being accessible after exiting fullscreen mode.
