I need some help and I'm not sure this is the right place. If not could somebody lead in the right direction. Problem: all my icons are the same and when I click on them it opens that program. It has also invaded my start menu. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for any and all help! Uturn

Solution
Rebuilding the icon cach will probably sort it:

Goto control panel, folder options, views. Select the option to show Hidden / System Files. Navigate to C:\Users\<yourUserName>\AppData\Local folder and delete the hidden IconCache.db file. Reboot.

I'm not the first to point out a virus issue, but that sounds like it. I would suggest a thorough scan. One with your own program, perhaps wit an online one.
