Hello everyone, it's nice to find a forum where people are taking their personal time to help others. You have my appreciation and thanks.

Hi, can I specifically allow a download of an execution file from a trusted website through Windows 7 firewall? I have excluded the file in webshield and real time shield of Avast Free. I have turned off SmartScreen Filter in IE9 and lowered IE9 security to medium. I don't have any other...
I'm having random CPU spikes that I notice because the fans of my laptop start up.
This has happened while browing the web, chatting through skype, using photoshop and sometimes while idling even.
This laptop is new (a month and a half old), 8GB RAM, drivers up to date. Those programs should...
Hi All, My PC was running great but when I started it from overnight sleep, which woke at the normal speed, I as always did a manual update to Avast definitions. It did the download as quick as always, but then during the "saving package" it hung. I left it like that for some minutes, and then...

I just noticed some conflict between Windows Defender and Avast. I couldn't update Avast, and Windows Defender wouldn't start. It's been going on for some two weeks.
Just to give you the info. There seems to be some conflict, I solved it by closing Defender.
Best of all. :)

Out of the blue, the Windows 7 Snipping Tool no longer lets me Save. I am still able to Copy the graphic to the Clipboard (which is usually what I want anyway), but the Save feature is not working. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I scanned with Malwarebytes, Avast and CCleaner just a couple...
