Hi,
I have an Acer Aspire 6930Z which is still under warranty. Recently the Vista installation became corrupted and wouldn't boot. Recovery didn't work and rather than ship back to Acer for them to somehow find a way to charge me I decided to buy a copy of Windows 7 instead.
Putting the disc...
I have another issue. Before I got windows 7, I was this current setup:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
4 x 1GB Kingston Value ram DDR2800 running in dual channel (While the model number is the same, 2 sticks are low profile the other are normal height)
Biostar TA690G-AM2 motherboard

Hi I've assigned 2.25 GB of ram on the XP mode but it is not using it.
When I am on XP mode and open the Task Manager I can see the allocated RAM of 2.25 but the PF Usage gauge never exceeds 250 MB even when running demanding applications. But in Device Manager in XP mode there is a ? sign on a...

I have installed Win7 RTM on a second disk. I use a bootloader to boot to the second disk. The install goes really well.
After the install is finished and I am presented with the desktop for the first time. The Sleep (Hybrid Sleep) mode that is the default works fine. Windows goes to sleep...
The topic should pretty much explain the problem I'm having.
When I turn on/restart the computer, the desktop itself has two hard drives in it (250GB and 1TB, 1TB is not the one the OS is on)
When I put the computer to sleep, and then wake it up, the 1TB is not active, and to access it I have...

I have an older machine, that I have Windows 7 RC Built 7100 installed. I would like to remove Widows 7 and reinstall XP.
There is only one hard disk.
When I run setup on the XP disk, it says that it is an older OS then the current and won't do it.

I just installed a Linux distro based on Ubuntu 9.04.
It is very user friendly. I don't like the Start Menu, but that's easily changed by choosing the Gnome Desktop.
I used a program called [URL=http://unetbootin.sourceforge.netUnbooten[/URL] to install on my flash drive.
