I'm trying to set up a dual boot of windows 10 and Fedora 27. On every boot to windows, the windows removes fedoras boot entry (the windows update blue screen shows up at the start of the boot if the entry exists).
Used the same dual boot setup over a month ago, worked fine through updates for...

My computer refuses to Shutdown/Reboot.
I exit Windows (64bit Win7 Home), it goes through the normal shutdown process (exits windows, goes through "Shutting down" message, the screen goes black,) but the computer never shuts off. Lights & fans stay on (as does the Num Lock LED on my keyboard.)...

My desktop runs with two hard disks. On each of them a Windows 10 version is installed. Recently one of these versions started to function properly. A lot of programs do not work anymore but others do. For example the Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel etc.) function well. The connection...

I want to provide a lot of space for a Linux Mint distribution to run on the windows pc, having first set up a dual boot system. I had a D: drive with 800MB of space not being used. I deleted the D: drive and that space became "Unallocated". Following the instructions, I should be able to click...

I'm on a Windows 10 high end laptop. I have the C drive and also D, E and G drives. G drive is a USB 2TB Seagate.
Is it possible for me to install a Linux distribution on the G drive (or the D drive) and run this instead of the Windows 10 installation?
Hi!
I tried installing Debian 9 on my Windows 7 laptop this morning and have managed to break my Windows. I'd like to have it set up so I can choose which OS to boot from at start up. I used the Debian GNU installer to partition my hard drive and install. I am able to start Debian from GNU GRUB...

I have a 600 GB hard drive and run Win 10 -clean install.
I would like to use the Windows 7 the pc came with.
Can I shrink the drive by 100GB and install Windows 7 on the new partition I would create without hurting Windows 10?
I have never done this before so could use a few tips.

I'm scared of partitioning D: drive to install Linux.
My most important files are backed up in the cloud but have loads of stuff i don't want to loose.
The process went fine for my C: drive which already had windows 7 in it.
Should i expect a similar scenario for my D: drive?
