Using Usb to change from linux to windows

I have a laptop that originally had windows 8.1. I installed Kubuntu since I am a Unix and Linux user, But I discovered I also need Windows. My optical drive doesn't work and bios doesn't givr the option to boot from a usb optical drive. I tried it any any way but it didnl work. Booting and installing window is a different animal rhan I'm use to. Please help I really need windows. Thanks

Are you looking to dual boot?

Also the USB option could just say Storage device or removable media and also may only show up when you have the drive plugged in.

In kubuntu I auto mounts. What it doesn't do is load the bootloader. I got another suggestion to buy the usb. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks,
