I have a laptop with a GeForce 9800m GS.
I'm using a VGA cable to connect it to my HDTV.
The problem is that I can't choose the resolution I want wich is 1280 x 720.
I can only choose 4:3 resolutions.
it sets the tv to 1024 x 768.
I'm using win xp SP3
Hey everyone,
I'm currently running a Dell Inspiron 1545 Computer. It has Dual 2.00 Ghz processors and an Intel GM45 integrated graphics card.
It originally came with Vista 64 bit, but I made the switch over to Windows 7. The computer previously worked with my TV, which is a 19" Vizio LCD...
I am having real trouble installing windows 7
I have tried a clean install about 5 times and it fails at the end of installation after it's starting services. There is just a black screen with a flashing cursor at the top left of the screen. Last night I left it to see if it was taking a...
When I first installed Windows 7 Build 7100 had available screen resolution 1600 X 1200 on my Planar 2010M DVI with GEForce 6800 GS. Somewhere along the way max became 1024 X 768, not sure if broken by nvidia upgrade or Windows Update. The monitor is listed as the Generic digital non PNP...
Hello everyone,
I would like to congratulate you first on this great forum.
I have been running Windows 7 RTM 64-bit for a couple of weeks now. I got a key thought my University's MSDN.
I currently triple boot 7, XP 32 and XP 64 on the same drive but different partitions. I also run dual...
I've gotten past the install, I installed with onboard graphics and put the card in after, and it booted up with the default vga drivers.
This is where it gets weird, I installed the Nvidia drivers (tried both 185 and 190, to no avail) and restarted the computer, and it gave me the same problem...

I'll let you guess on the outcome...:)
There are a few issues at play here, so I'll spell it out in the simplest terms possible:
I've been getting the dreaded 'No Signal' after I do the install for Windows 7. I was able to somehow complete this install blind (the monitor was off) and subsequently can now get into Safe Mode...

The Everest detected that my display is an ATI Radeon 9200 SE card (OEM). But Windows 7 only recognizes it as a standard VGA card.
Where do I get the proper driver for windows 7?
How can I change the current display to the ATI card?
Thanks very much for the help.

This is driving me up the wall because I can't figure this one out. The issue is that I cannot get Windows 7 to project the 1920x1080 resolution through VGA to my Samsung TV. I get a "mode not supported" error on the TV.
I have the RTM Windows 7 7600 x64 Ultimate version, running the latest...

I just installed the release candidate after using the beta since it came out, and now my graphics card (8400 gs) is no longer recognized. I checked and my laptop only recognizes it as a standard VGA adapter.
Windows update doesn't offer any driver updates so I went and got the driver from the...
Hello!
My win7 was working perfectly for about a month.
About 2 days ago i started getting blue screens on my W7RC 64-bit. And that was traced down to one of my DDR3 sticks, which still had warranty and I got a new set yesterday.
Right after the new RAM arrived and i inserted it, I started...
Brand new install of Windows 7, installed it all fine with an old 17" LCD. Now when I plug in my TV via HDMI it crashes on startup and then the startup repair thing cant repair the computer automatically.
If I load the computer with the 17" LCD plugged in via a vga cable, and THEN plug in the...
Well when I installed Win7, I decided to put it on my old PC, that I didn't really care about... It was built to run XP...
Right when I was installing it, my screen went black, and said, no signal found on my moniter (im was currently using the VGA slot on the mother board) So, I put in some...
I downloaded it, I installed it. No display on bootup. Downloaded and installed again. Nothing. Tried again with erasing everything on my hard drive (didn't back up, I was wasting enough time already). After a whole 12 hour day (i'm 16, summer break) at home, I still did not have windows 7...
My old crt will work, but my 22" lcd won't work (dvi). It works until after the windows boot screen with the little fairy things, then it's blank. The crt is vga as opposed to dvi, should I try the vga connection on my lcd and see if that works?
I have been trying to install the x86 RC version on my Netbook, a Vye S18.
It went through the installation and various reboots until it said it was finished but now just hangs during the final reboot. I've tried safe mode, VGA 640, boot to command prompt - same thing. It does the Win7 logo...
