I am struggling with all the options of Ad Blocking s/w .. I stupidly installed Ad Annihilator and the thing failed part way into the install, then I couldn't unintall it without a Registry Cleaner. (developers still use WISE & UNWISE? Who knew?) ..
Anyway, any recommendations for a robust &...

I have a situation where I need to run Windows Live Mail in the OFFLINE mode (I'm connected to the internet, but away from my ISP), and the Internet Explorer on ONLINE mode. However, when I change one of them, the other one changes as well. Is there any way to separate them?
People, like myself, that have multilang systems, sometimes are typing something other than English, then go to the Internet and start typing a URL and only when they click Enter, realize that they didn't type in English.
URL's are never anything but English so wouldn't it be great if no matter...
Around the new year, I installed new RAM. Ever since, I have been getting BSOD at various times. I ran memtest86 and it came back clean. Unfortunately I left the old RAM a few thousand miles away so I can't test it with that. I also started playing a couple of more graphics intensive games...

Ok, I've had a real problem with I.E. overpowering Firefox. If I click on any link, it opens in I.E.
I've tried every suggestion as to how to make FF my default browser, from at least a dozen sources and nothing works.
So I tried this.
I have a desktop shortcut to this forum on my desktop...
Mozilla and Google say they are building Windows 8-enabled browsers, and Opera Software is looking into the possibility, too. Still, it may not be as easy as with previous Windows operating systems thanks to Microsoft's new "Metro" user interface.

First off, I'd like to say that up until now, Windows 8 has been running perfectly for me. If I had seen this on a friend's computer a few days ago, I'd have thought this was a release version. This post is meant more to advise people than as a plea for help. I realize this is a beta version...
While my years of using Windows products overall has been very positive for the 12 years that I've been a MS customer, sometimes they try to break one off in me.
Whenever I install XP, I always hide IE8 as an update, due to a bad experience I had when IE8 was released. I didn't even want IE8...

I'm at my wits end. Any help is appreciated.
Using the SF diagnostic tool, the only button that didn't pull any info was the minidump. I've changed the setting so it doesn't restart, and to a small size as well. Even after a restart, no info is pulled from the minidump button.

Don't know where to ask this but I - and many, many others, it seems - have a problem with IE not opening in full screen.
I have been up on other site and tried every suggestion I have found but still about half my pages open full page and half don't.
I can't believe MS hasn't put out a fix to...
I require assistance with a recurring, yet strangely sporadic and random BSOD problem. Seems to only happen when just browsing the web, as there have been instances where I have played online games such as World of Tanks with it for hours at a time with teamspeak running as well and had 0...

I was not sure if this was an appropriate entry in this section. I know it is not directly related to Windows
8 but, like it or not, IE10 is the default. There is a surprising lack of interest on the web, regarding this feature.
I have installed Firefox, as a standby, but am...
