Windows 10 Connection Status Utility?

So, anything I can try to get it working again? Remove anything in the registry? Delete any files? I just do not see what is different between when it worked and now. Maybe the file that keeps the locations? Worth directing me there to delete it?

Actually, just found it. I was dated the day before the restore, but maybe. Trying now....

That caused it to ask for a location name, but still no left click on the icon.

Here the log...

You can try the second to last uploaded version. It will probably throw an exception and tell us what is crashing.

Same issue. No left click.

Tried the .net repair tool and another install of .net 4.5 and nothing. Says already installed. So this has to be something that recently changed in Win 10 or a result of the resstore for a backup some how. Too odd??

thanks

~Bob

The more I think about it, the more I am sure it worked after the restore. But was older version. I changed to latest and MAY have been working then. Then a TON of Microsoft updates on the 27th and that was when it started not working. Fairly sure.

Can you go into System Settings > Notifications & actions. Under the section "Show notifications from these apps" Are they turned on for NetStatus?

Well, don't spend too much time. I appreciate all you have done. Just cannot understand what changed so it doe snot work any longer/.

I did in a few ways. Toggled. Exited and toggled, etc. No change. Something is preventing the left click and info.

I have a clue.

Under "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" I show BOTH netstatus and netstaus.exe. Something odd. Doing a registry seatrch right now.

Purged just a few things from the registry. Did not change the show which icons list. Did not change how NetStatus does not work.

Any help here?:

That "Program has stopped working" could be an issue with Windows or .NET itself. The error is not coming from the program itself.

Interesting.

Si I noted there is nothing .net in programs and features to repair or uninstall. I downlaoded a netfix_setupvrrifier program. It reports that all versions are installed fine from 2.0 to 4.6.1. It does show the following errors but would suprise me if this is the issue:

The main file shows nothing that points out an issue and is long.

No other program has an issue as far as I can tell. Not sure what else to trouble shoot.

Reset the notification tary and older is no longer available to show. Which is good, but no change.

Could this have anything to do with "location" Neemo? I recall changing privacy settings though changing back what I thought I changed makes no change to NetStatus.

Anniversary Win 10 Update today. Netstatus started working again! Go figure:)

Broke a bunch of other things. Making a list....

Lol well at least it's working again. The location of Netstatus.exe doesn't matter, except if you have it set to start on boot since the start up would no longer point to the correct path. That could be fixed by simply toggling the "start on boot". The profile path is set to be in C:\ProgramData\Neemobeer\Netstatus. If it doesn't exist Netstatus will recreate it. It doesn't use the registry at all.

Hi Neemobeer,

Today was my lucky day for Win 10 1809 updates. Broke 8 things and of course, NetStatus :) It reports No Active Networks even though I am online. I go to adapter settings and just touch the wireless network and it works. 50% of the time it is perfect from there until a restart and 50% it creates the message in the action center rather than the slideout with sound.

Got a fix?

Thanks!

~Bob
