[FONT=&quot]My computer has been randomly BSODing for quite a while. Sometimes only once a week, sometimes every few days. I came on here a while ago and ended up changing the RAM settings but that didn't work.

Today a new problem has started. While playing LOTRO, the computer will randomly shut down. It has done this four times in the last few hours. Always only 5-10 minutes into the game. I updated the BIOS but that didn't help. It has crashed once since I did that. I wasn't even doing anything - the game was running, but I wasn't even near the computer. When it shuts down, the monitor receives no signal, but the computer is continuing to run (lights and fan on). Upon restart, it says "Overclocking failed". Setting the BIOS to defaults did not fix the problem.

I had posted this before but somehow missed a reply and gave up for a while because I was mainly using another computer. (I'm sorry, that was a big mistake on my part)

Check disk always comes up fine. So does scannow.

Any suggestions would be excessively appreciated. :( And thanks in advance.

1. Wrong memory settings are causing your blue screens. Set it according to its rates 1600 Mhz 9-9-9-24.

2. It might be a good idea to update the following drivers to the latest:

Realtek Audio
Realtek LAN
USB 3.0 Controller

Updating drivers is only a good idea, not really necessary. RAM is the culprit of your crashes.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff800031ee0f3, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffff880031bd8b8, Exception Record Address
Arg4: fffff880031bd120, Context Record Address

Solution
Thank you!

How do I fix this? I thought I had done so previously but I obviously did something wrong in BIOS. Sorry for being clueless.

I will update the drivers as well.

But I appreciate your help more than I can tell you.

Your current RAM setting is 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24.
You need to set it this way 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24.

How?

- Enable XMP in your bios setup program.

I had previously set RAM to 1600 but that didn't solve the problem.

But I can't find an XMP option in BIOS. I have no idea what I'm doing, so there is probably something missing I'm not catching. I did Google it, though. The option is not where it should be. (Sorry?)

[langtitle=ro]Re: Regular BSODs now with gaming restarts[/langtitle]

Does your motherboard suport DDR1600?
Do you have 1600mhz DRAM option in the bios?

Re: [langtitle=ro]Re: Regular BSODs now with gaming restarts[/langtitle]

There is a 1600mhz option in the BIOS.

motherboard specs: (Link Removed)

4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
*AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz.
