📎 AI Summary:
The WindowsForum thread discusses a user's issue with their laptop monitor not turning off at zero brightness after reinstalling Windows, as it previously did. Responders suggest that the dimness at zero brightness is normal and may have been managed by a third-party utility before, recommending adjusting power settings instead. Later comments express concern about the screen being too dim to work comfortably, but it is clarified that this is a separate issue from the original request.

Before reinstalling windows, my laptop's monitor would turnoff whenever I set the brightness to 0. Now with a clean install of windows, 0 brightness is just very dim. I would like to know if there is a way to get this feature back, as it was very useful. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Normal behavior of 0 brightness is very dim. It could of been some utility that came pre-installed.
I'm assuming your intent is to leave the computer on and it either runs something in the background or login remote. You should be able to set the screen to turn off in the power plan.
