Hi,
I've recently (about a week ago) upgraded from Windows 7 RC to Windows 7 Ultimate and during the process I upgraded my new Samsung HDD (the old HDD had defects so I had to get it replaced anyway).
After the installation of Windows 7 on the new HDD, however, I started experiencing...
I have a Windows 7 laptop wi-fi'ed to my Windows 7 desktop, both recently upgraded from Vista. The printer on the desktop is network-shared. On the desktop, under Power Options, Sleep, "allow wake timers" is enabled. Printing from the laptop under Vista could occur whether the desktop was awake...
I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ650N notebook model. I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Professional 32-bit recently and got the dreaded "fn key malfunctioning" issue, which I was able to quickly fix by reinstalling drivers from Sony's website in a certain order. Changing the display brightness with...

Hi
I am new to Windows 7, have it on Asus EEEPC
On Windows shutdown option I have Hibernation but no standby. Sleep is grayed
On Power options I can set Hibernation options but I even on lid down options I do not see standby option.
Power options resets itself to "balanced" every time I turn my laptop on. If I set it to "performance" or my own power plan this is never remembered when the laptop has been rebooted.
I am using Home Premium now but when I was using the RC I never had this problem.

Hi, I just installed windows 7 on my laptop and the power options page doesn't display a "dim the display" option, nor do the keyboard commands to dim the display do anything. Is there a way to fix this?
I am running a Lenovo G530 machine and there does not seem to be driver support for windows...
I've searched several forums, but can't find an answer, so I'll ask here.
I like the auto-dim feature in Windows 7 when the computer is idle, however I'd like it to dim more than it does. I can adjust the brightness while I'm using it, but I can't find a setting to allow me adjust the level...
Hi
I've recently upgraded my R610 to Windows 7.
I've extended the desktop by HDMI onto my television. I've found that when I close the screen, the laptop switches off the output to the extended desktop - killing off the image on the TV. Basically the laptop goes into sleep mode.
Under XP and...
Ok, so I have ACPI 2.0 installed, and I have all the settings in the "Power Options" that allow a timed hibernate, disabled. However, when I leave the PC on it will hybrid sleep after a few hours and then when I try to resume, it instantly turns on (like its supposed to) but then, after about a...
Windows 7 runs about 10-15 degrees C hotter than XP. I have a M2A-VM ASUS motherboard. When I ran Win 7 RC for quite a while it seemed cooler. It has quite and cool AMD technology!
After researching cool and quiet AMD tech., turning the power options to the lowest power level is better but not...

Hello,
I'm trying to prevent my monitor from going into sleep mode when the computer is not being used.
I changed the power options in Control Panel to never turn off monitor and never turn off hard drives then I went into the advanced options and changed the setting to never turn PCIe...
Basically I push the sleep button and the computer stays on but the keyboard lights turn off, so I suppose it's in hybrid sleep. I want my computer to go into Sleep mode and completely shut off. I don't see an option in the power options to disable hybrid sleep, and I even tried to disable it...
i've been from this 2 pages:

and no1 can really solve my problem
from this page (2. Link Removed) blizz26 told that:
sure this solves the problem, cos what makes the computer freezes is when "turn off display after" is enabled.
