I ran the DP from mid-September 2011. Messed w/ it sporadically. Since 29/2/12 have been solidly w/ Windows8. To little time to learn it, personalise it. I'm running dual-boot w/ Windows7, both x64. The Start is of little concern... I boot to the Desktop... have customized start but visit it...

I can't seem to get in the Windows 8 section of the Forum but, what the heck, may as well put this somewhere... Must say that the Ribbon & File functionality & offerings in the Windows 8 Explorer Windows is an absolute joy. Things are so clear, in-your-face, easy to understand &...

I can’t get anything faster than 5Mbs transfers over my network. This is what I have connected. I’m using a Dlink DIR-655 Router, set to connect at 1Gbps, Western Digital NAS drive, it says it’s connected at 1Gbps, and my laptop is set to connect at 1Gbps also. My laptop has a Realtek NIC, with...
I wanted to make sure I had the fastest connection for my lap top thru my home desktop so I purchased a Netgear "N" router. I had a router supplied by Verizon and I had the "Geek Squad" from Best Buy hook it up. They did not remove the original router but hooked up my new router in parallel or...

Dear experts,
I have a laptop and desktop both running win7, both connected via wifi to the same router which is two floors down.
I would like to access the laptop from desktop via remote desktop. It works fine but is a bit slow.
My question is: Can I connect the laptop and desktop via a...
Like the title says our home network is aparantly running fine via wifi but the laptops in our house hold are having issues. First all we have called in a technician to solve this issue before but it was temporary. the desktop the modem is directly connected to says it has a connection of...
Take a look at the new version of VMWare Workstation and you will have no doubt in your mind that Microsoft's Hyper-V offering, which was formerly only available in Windows Server 2008, will be negligible for serious virtualization users when the time comes to upgrade to Windows 8. VMWare...
