I just tested a new Corsair Flash Voyager 3.0 flash drive I got, and was curious why it is considerably faster transferring a file to the drive than it is to transfer the same file off the flash drive back to the desktop? Shouldn't it be about the same either way?

Windows 8.1 on a VM w/ just 2Gigs Ram is faster, snappier & sites in IE11 loading quicker than the Windows 8 host machine and IE10.
Have, certainly, read heaps about 8.1 suggesting this sort of behavior can be expected
Just might be the case, too...

I have a new notebook (with Intel ProSet Wireless chip) which should be able to connect to the WLAN-Router with
802.11 n speed.
The WLAN-Router/AP itself offers as well 802.11 n feature.
Currently for testing purposes the WLAN-Router/AP stands just 1 m distance with no wall in between...
After reboot (restart) of my W7 64bit, the transmit speed on the network goes way down (from close to 100Mb/s down to 200Kb/s). my way to correct this is to:
1 - uninstall the driver.
2 - reboot
3 - re-install driver.
Then the speed goes back high. if any of the above steps is missing, speed...

Hi!
I've been looking into the boot time of my laptop (ASUS N71Jq), which I've had for about 1 year now. I measured 2:30 to 3:00 from pressing power to desktop. Doing this I've found that the boot time for the Prefetch cache has a rather long degradation:

I just received a wireless router, the Linksys EA3500. It has 4 ethernet connections, for connecting printers, cameras, etc. to the network. This might be a dumb question, but can a laptop also connect to the internet via one of these ethernet plug-ins? I have a gaming pc and just purchased a...
So I got a new computer recently and have installed a tl-wdn4800 as the network card. However, the download speed is so terribly slow (25kb/s) that it took about 15mins to download a 29mb file. I have installed the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled again too many times. It is not the router...
Here's a demonstration and benchmark test I did on allocating to the stack vs. allocating on the heap. I combined both allocation and retrieval into each method for each allocation destination, and the results are below.
Note: There are benefits of each, although for speed, allocation on the...
