I've seen a few mentions here regarding Adobe AIR, so I thought I'd share my experience. In an attempt to install TweetDeck (a Twitter app), I ended up crashing my machine. Luckily, the startup repair corrected the issue. But after poking around a bit, I've found a solution.
The issue seems to be tied to the fact that the version of Adobe AIR that comes packaged with Acrobat Reader is outdated, and isn't compatible with Win7. It also wouldn't uninstall. So I did the following:
The issue seems to be tied to the fact that the version of Adobe AIR that comes packaged with Acrobat Reader is outdated, and isn't compatible with Win7. It also wouldn't uninstall. So I did the following:
- Downloaded the newest version (1.5) from Adobe's website (via Firefox)
- Ran the installer, which removed the old version and installed the newer version
- Restarted the machine
- Downloaded an .AIR file (in this case, TweetDeck)
- Installed the file from the desktop (not from the browser)
