Windows 7 64-bit RC

Working:
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - absolutely not one issue with the game, perfection!

Not working:
Fallout 3 - Freezes after playing for so long, ive looked online for a solution, no avail. If anyone has tips please shed some light.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2 - this one id love to get working, i really want to play it badly, it does the exact same thing as fallout 3. I can play it for so long, and then bam, it freezes. My PC is more than strong enough to run the games at max, yet i freeze randomly. Music still plays, sounds etc, the screen is just frozen and locked. Even in vent i can still talk to people.. its strange.. Anything i can try? (I can't run Warhammer 40k as admin, because its in steam for some lame reason. Any way to take it out of steam?)

Try get the new 186.08 driver.....185.85 sucked royal bottom on mine for DOW2 and Fallout 3

Prototype works LIKE A CHARM in w7 7210.

no glitches, no backtodesktop. no nothing.

and it´s great =) if you can, try it.

(if you have a problem with the game sound, try disabling the 5.1 speaker system and enabling 2.0 this works for MANY people)

Games that Work:
---------------------
Age of Wonders 2
Aliens vs. Predator Gold (easiest fix is the new, ported executeable)
Battlezone I & II (both need the "Vista tweaks")
Company of Heroes
Counter Strike: Source (can join games, but can't host for reason)
Diablo II with Lord of Destruction expansion
Dawn of War Gold Edition (DoW and Winter Assault exp.)
Dawn of War Dark Crusade
Left 4 Dead
Lord of the Rings Online
Neverwinter Nights (no problems so far)
Sins of a Solar Empire
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (has always had problems, so it takes work to get it running properly)
Starcraft (game works fine, but menu screens are corrupted and Xfire messes up all screens)
Team Fortress 2
Warcraft III with Frozen Throne expansion

Games with Issues:
--------------------------
Dungeon Siege -- Haven't found a fix for this, yet
STEAM -- Has a few kinks to work out
Xfire -- Has a few kinks to work out

Games That May Cause Problems:
----------------------------------------
Old DOS games (latest version of DOSBox seems to work well)
Outcast
System Shock 2 (this one was hard to run on XP, much less a newer OS)
Ultima IX
Windows '95 games (I still have a bunch of these -- lack of DirectX 6 support is a big problem)

Hello!

I have same problem on running Prince of Persia Warrior Within.
I also experienced this kind of problem by starting other games: Battlefield 2 (It can be run only windowed mode), Combat Arms and Spellforce 1
But Spellforce 2 is ok

I think the problem is in fullscreen video mode handling.

I updated all video drivers to latest version and applied Windows Update....

Is there anybody who knows the solution?

I use Windows7 RC Build 7100 (AMD64 ATI RADEON HD 3400....)

Any idea ?

Battlezone is an extremely old game, and I'm so glad I caught it in your post. I've been trying to remember the name of that game for ages!

Prototype Problems

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forums so forgive me if this question has already been answered. I'm busy playing Prototype now (or at least trying to) and at the end of the mission "Shock and Awe" the game freezes at the end of the cutscene. Now, my drivers are fully updated, but i am running Windows 7 build 7100. Have any of you had any issues like that with the game? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There!

I removed Windows 7 64 bit version and installed a Windows 7 32 bit.
The above problems eliminated. Those games working as in Windows XP before.

So if you also have problems with games, try to run it under 32 bit version of Windows 7. :D

Bye!

Farki

Some more games:

MUGEN - Runs fine with no issues
Harley-Davidson: Race Across America - No issues
Harley-Davidson: Race To The Rally - Same as above
