I lowered my rates recently and it's still going out in my sleep quiet often. The bitch is Medicare no longer covers diabetics seeing a C.D.E. (Certified Diabetes Educator), so I have no way of getting hooked up to a Continuous Glucose Monitor for 3 days. The C.G.M.S. would pin-point what amount of insulin I need at all times of the day/night.
Medicare stinks if you have Type 1 diabetes. It's more setup for type 2 diabetes.
I've got a CGMS that came with my previous insulin pump. Medicare approved it and then pulled the approval the day I received it.
I did one of their so-called appeals. They do them over the phone and it's a complete joke. I had my C.D.E. as a witness and they denied it.
I'm what's known as a brittle diabetic and the reason I'm a brittle diabetic is our government's fault. My father was retired from the Army, so the military hospital diagnosed my diabetes when I was 12. They should've had me on 2 different insulins at the time, but they only had me on Lente insulin for the first 5 years.
I was only getting insulin 18 hours a day. Yet it was my fault according to them that my blood sugars were always high.
If I could remember where the military sent my medical records to when I turned 21 and lost my benfits I'd be a millionaire right now.
I have proof of stuff they should have done & checked and didn't.
That's why I have stage 3 kidney disease now. They never checked my kidneys.

Did my clean install of Windows 10 and Cortana is working again so far.
So far I have my Origin and Uplay games installed. Steam is in the process of downloading my games now.
Video card is scheduled to arrive Wednesday. I have a feeling it may come on Tuesday, though.
It's shipped from New Jersey from Newegg and I'm in Florida.
Waiting to overclock it a little further. I already know settings that should work according to Dragon Blogger.
Sapphire TriXX 3 settings:OC Settings
GPU Clock: 1421
Memory Clock: 2030
GPU Voltage: +60 mV
Fan Speed: 60%
Card arrives with these OC Settings:
GPU Clock: 1342
Memory Clock: 2000
GPU Voltage: +0 mV
Fan Speed: 57%
The TriXX software has some cool features. It can display all the video card information and check the cards fans to make sure they're working properly.
Card also has a dual bios. One bios has the factory overclock settings and the other one has the default AMD RX 480 8gb settings.

PC's running good so far with this install. Games are done. Edge, IE & Chrome are all reconfigured. Movies & TV has all my videos, Groove has my music. Photos actually only took 20 minutes to add my 1700 pictures folders this time. That impressed me big time.
Now WMP is adding everything. When it's done, I'll reinstall Cyberlink Media Suite 14 Ultra and let all of it do it's thing after I update Media Espresso and PowerDVD.
After those 2 are updated, I'll uninstall Divx Player first.

Side note apparently Google & Mozilla both removed Web of Trust's addon. If you have it in IE, you may want to ditch it.

Just don't fill the HDD back up with those little applications as it simply bogs the machine down, even a brand new one. Glad to hear you have Cortana back although myself i'd have been glad she was gone lol.

I found that amusing, a reinstall to get back cortana. I go out of my way to disable her.

I just installed the necessary stuff. Once Maps is done getting the updated US maps, I'll reinstall Bitdefender Internet Security 2017 and run a full scan.
I occasionally use Cortana.

I still have to reconfigure the pagefile, tell the pc not to automatically restart on a bsod, ddo a system image and a backup.
My video card is in Orlando now. I'll have it either tomorrow or Tuesday.
I knew it wasn't going to be Wednesday.

Other things in Windows weren't working besides Cortana. I for the hell of it clicked on the Get Support in the start menu and it didn't open either. A few other things didn't work, too.
Before I did the clean install, I used Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to get the most recent iso for Windows 10.
Curious to see how much better my games and videos look with the better video card.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what others say they've got with that card core speed wise. Most of the cards top out around 1350ish core speed on air. My card has the bios switch too, Which gives it silent oc mode, throttles too early for me. Or General OC mode has less throttling and keeps my core at maximum in games. Can get a little loud though with prolonged gaming sessions.

Those settings I posted above for the Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 were actually done by a hardware review site Dragon Blogger.
Off to my Bitdefender scan.

System image is done. Now for the backup.

I believe it but not all cards are equal and review sites get cherry picked cards.

True, true. I'm gonna do it the smart way. Start with lower setting and pound each change with numerous FireStrike Extreme runs. I will use the custom fan setting out the gate.
From what I've heard the default for the fan is 40 %.
I'm gonna start with the 60% fan speed.
I may not even mess with it at all.
It all depends on the stock overclock's benchmarks.

When I put the video card in, I need to finish up on my cases front fan mod.
The cutting of the fan mounts for it didn't go well, so it's getting super glued into place and the tape holding it in place is coming off.

I just notice a good one I did.I forgot to check the box next to Music for my backup. I only checked Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Saved Games & Videos.
Oh well, its at 57% now. I'll just change the settings & rerun it when it finishes.

review sites get cherry picked cards.
Almost certainly and the same goes for everything else they bench.

I'm sure of it.

Maximum PC has a good article on overclocking cpu's & gpu's in the November issue.
Izzy @ Dragon Blogger and I have a discussion going on about it, too.
The card comes set at 1340 gpu & 2000 memory. I'm going to start at 1345 and run 3 sets of benchmarks 3 times each before each increase.
FireStike, Batman: Arkham Knight and Rise of the Tomb Raider DX12.
I may throw RealBench's benchmark in there too.
The only other games I have that have benchmarks in them are Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Origins, DiRT 3, DiRT Showdown and Tomb Raider.

Not really tried too hard to overclock my XFX RX480 GTR Black Edition 8GB. Out of the box is was 1340. Have it running atm with 1350 but will see if I can get higher at some point.
