Hello,
I have recently installed a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32Bit. Since installing it (clean install) Wireless speeds have drastically reduced. Other people sharing the same wireless network have not noticed the same problem, and neither did I when my laptop ran Vista. My laptop is an Asus F8VR if that helps.
Thanks,
Peter

Fixed this issue by disabling the wireless adapter's "802.11n Mode"!
I just got a new Thinkpad T400 with the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN card running Windows 7 Pro. Using Link Removed as a gauge of Internet performance, I was getting ~700kpbs download. By comparison, I have also have a Thinkpad Z60t with Windows XP Pro getting wireless speeds of ~12,000kpbs.
I tried a variety of options, including updating drivers, disabling "Remote Differential Compression" --- none of these worked. What did work was disabling the wireless adapter's "802.11n Mode".
From 'Network Connections', right-click on 'properties'. Click the button to 'Configure..." the wireless adapter. Go to the 'Advanced' tab, which is the second tab...

I would assume.
I'd suggest you purchase a new wireless card (an actual PCI card, not a usb adapter)
I'm glad that seems to have fixed your problem.

Yes it did, the dlink is giving me a little problem but something I can work on. You all have been great and very helpful. thanks alot. One other question though. Someone mention something about downloading a beta version of office 2010. Is that free and what limitations would it have?
Thanks
Thanks

The Office 2010 beta is available for public download at Link Removed
I highly recommend it, it's free. It is the full-featured suite, includes everything. No limitations.
It's the beta version though, but I'm assuming you know what that means.
And if you wouldn't mind, please add to my rep, I will add to yours in return.
I'll add you as a friend as well.

Sorry about that, just click the star/snowflake shaped icon at the bottom of my post, (blue bar) it is right beside the "Blog this post" link.

Really now? I've installed this on my PC's as well as my clients PC's probably close to 100 times.
The only problem I've ever had is "Installation Failed".. Once.
What problems have you had with the beta?

I think you need a new keyboard
I'm not a huge fan of Office either, mainly because it never does what you want it to, but I still use it over OpenOffice
Anyways let's stop the conversation here, this guy has solved his problem, he doesn't need us cluttering up his thread.
